Marvel Studios’ Blade reboot casts Delroy Lindo

November 20, 2021 by Liam Waddington

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios’ upcoming Blade reboot has cast Delroy Lindo who will be starring alongside the already announced Mahershala Ali. There are currently no details on Lindo’s role in the film.

Lindo has had somewhat of a resurgence due to his performance in Da 5 Bloods, Spike Lee’s war drama that also starred Chadwick Boseman. He is also known for his other credits including Get Shorty and Gone in 60 Seconds, and his work with filmmaker Lee, which also includes Clockers, Crooklyn and Malcolm X. He most recently starred in the Netflix western The Harder They Fall.

While details on the upcoming Blade reboot are scarce, we do know that Bassam Tariq will be directing the film from a script by Stacy Osei-Kuffour (Watchmen, PEN15) with Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige producing. Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali is set to portray the MCU version of the titular Daywalker. The project is due to begin shooting in late summer 2022.
