Jurassic World Dominion rated PG-13 for “intense sequences of action, some violence and language”

December 2, 2021 by Liam Waddington

Ahead of its release in June 2022, the third instalment in the Jurassic World franchise, titled Jurassic World: Dominion, has received a PG-13 rating from the MPAA for “intense sequences of action, some violence and language.”

In comparison, the first two instalments in the Jurassic World series both received PG-13 ratings. However, the one difference is Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom both earned their ratings for “science fiction” violence while Jurassic World Dominion has been classified as just “violence.”

Although plot details are still being kept under wraps, Trevorrow has previously stated that the returning original trio of Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern will have significant roles in Jurassic World: Dominion – rather than short cameos like Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Colin Trevorrow returns to direct Jurassic World Dominion, which features a cast that includes franchise returnees Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, Justice Smith, Danielle Pineda, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy and Isabella Sermon along with new additions DeWanda Wise (She’s Gotta Have It), Mamoudou Athie (Patti Cake$), Scott Haze (Venom), Campbell Scott (House of Cards), and Dichen Lachman (Altered Carbon).

Jurassic World Dominion is set for release on June 10th 2022.
