Eve Online and Doctor Who universes crossover in a new event this month

January 6, 2022 by Andrew Newton

CCP Games, creators of the free to play space MMO EVE Online, have announced a crossover event with the BBC’s Doctor Who will start on 13th January and run until 1st February.  This collision of universes is the first crossover event for the popular spacefaring MMO and will see fans of both franchises able to search a special themed area of EVE space for specific items.  Watch the new trailer below…

The EVE Online crossover event will introduce a Gallifrey-themed region of space where players will be able to search for artifacts from the Great Time War from Doctor Who history.  This great war was an epic battle between the Time Lords and the evil Daleks and those players who find enough of these artifacts will gain clues that lead them to the Daleks.  Finding the Daleks will lead to an epic interstellar battle with them but those who survive the fight will gain unique rewards that they can take back to New Eden.

There will also be a login campaign with skill points and an assortment of Doctor Who-themed items available to all players throughout the duration of the event.

“2022 will be off to an (inter)stellar start with EVE Online x Doctor Who,” said Bergur Finnbogason, EVE Online’s Creative Director. “We are always pushing the boundaries of what is possible in EVE Online. Collaborating with BBC Studios gives us the opportunity to pay homage to an iconic series that has inspired us at CCP. We hope you’ll join us in New Eden on January 13 to see what happens when galaxies collide!”

“EVE Online x Doctor Who not only brings two iconic universes together, but also the passionate Whovians with the just-as-passionate pilots of New Eden,” said Kevin Jorge, Senior Producer at BBC Studios, “By bringing the fanbases together, the already massive battles of EVE Online are sure to become even more explosive. Only time will tell if New Eden’s fiercest pilots have what it takes to challenge the might of the Daleks.”

Get ready to take on the Daleks in this momentous EVE Online x Doctor Who crossover, starting 13th January.
