Keanu Reeves in talks to join Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Devil In The White City

January 4, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Keanu Reeves has quite the film resume, but oddly the actor has never done much work on the small screen. Now, that looks to change as he looks to have joined the cast of The Devil In The White City.

The Devil In The White City is an upcoming Hulu series based on Erik Larson’s 2003 book. Deadline reports that Reeves is currently in talks to star as the lead in the series, marking his first significant role on television or streaming. The series is headed by Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sam Shaw, and Todd Field. Field will serve as the director for the first two episodes of the limited series.

The series is a bit of a passion project for DiCaprio, who bought the film rights to the book in 2010. He was looking to turn it into a feature film with Paramount, but in 2019, it was announced that Hulu would tackle this as a limited series.

As per Deadline, “The Devil in the White City tells the true story of two men, an architect and a serial killer, whose fates were forever linked by The Chicago World’s Fair of 1893. It follows Daniel H. Burnham, a brilliant and fastidious architect racing to make his mark on the world, and Henry H. Holmes, a handsome and cunning doctor who fashioned his own pharmaceutical ‘Murder Castle’ on fairgrounds – a palace built to seduce, torture, and mutilate young women. The story takes the viewer on a tour of murder, romance, and mystery in the gilded age.”

As yet, it is unclear whether Reeves will be taking on the role of Burnham or serial killer Dr. H.H. Holmes in the series.
