Jennifer Tilly confirmed for Chucky season 2 as fall release targeted

March 24, 2022 by EJ Moreno

The queen of the Chucky franchise is back for another entry.

As per Deadline, Jennifer Tilly will return for season two of Chucky, the hit-horror series that aired on USA and SyFy. Tilly originally reprised her role as Tiffany Valentine for a few episodes in season one as an attempt to launch the series and help cement its legacy horror status. Another season with Tiffany fighting off Chucky and whatever newcomers join will likely delight fans.

Tilly has appeared in four Chucky movies, starting with Bride of Chucky in 1998. She played dual roles in Seed of Chucky and made cameos in Curse of Chucky and its sequel Cult of Chucky.

Deadline also notes the network will aim for a fall release date. They will want to keep that pre-Halloween release happening, which fits well with the campy slasher series. Chucky Season 1 was a massive success for the NBC brand, seeing 11.6 million viewers in its first season across all platforms.

Franchise creator and writer Don Mancini will once again return as showrunner and looks to make another delightfully delicious entry into the Chucky universe. Expect more bodies and even more Chucky dolls in the future!

In the new television series, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos after a vintage ‘Good Guy’ doll turns up at a suburban yard sale. Soon, everyone must grapple with a series of horrifying murders that begin to expose the town’s deep hypocrisies and hidden secrets. Meanwhile, friends and foes from Chucky’s past creep back into his world and threaten to expose the truth behind his mysterious origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

Chucky season 1 sees the return of franchise veterans Brad Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, and Fiona Dourif as Chucky, Tiffany, and Nica Pierce, respectively, while new cast additions include Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, Bjorgvin Arnarson, and Alyvia Alyn Lind as the young leads with Devon Sawa, Lexa Doig, and Barbara Alyn Woods.
