Three classic Resident Evil games coming to Xbox Series X/S and PS5

March 2, 2022 by Andrew Newton

Capcom has announced they will be releasing three highly acclaimed Resident Evil titles on the Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5 later this year.  These three classic titles are Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7 biohazard and will include such features as ray tracing, high frame rate and 3D audio to enhance the immersion plus support for Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers for Playstation 5 gamers.

Resident Evil 2 has been completely rebuilt from the ground up and offers a fresh take on the classic survival horror saga using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine.  This reimaginging provides a deeper narrative, realistic visuals, a new over the shoulder camera angle and heart pounding immersive audio to fully immerse gamers in the terror.  There are also modernised controls for gamers to make best use of the new controllers.

Resident Evil 3 is the gem that followed the adventure of S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine as she attempted to escape from the doomed Raccoon City and the fearsome Nemesis.  This brand-new version takes the game’s puzzle solving and heart-racing combat and adds it to the RE Engine’s photorealistic visuals to make Raccoon City’s swan song an action-packed and beautiful goodbye.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard was a complete change in direction for the series yet maintained the truly terrifying horror experience.  Once again Capcom’s RE Engine brings photorealistic visuals to gamers eager for an immersive horror.

The three Resident Evil titles will be available for Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5 later this year.  Those players who have purchased any of these titles on PS4 or Xbox One will be eligible for an upgrade at no extra cost.  PC gamers will also be able to install an upgrade patch at no additional cost.
