The Batman has dominated the early part of 2022. The latest DC movie is an obvious hit, from its box office success to impressive streaming numbers, and now we will see a follow-up to the reboot.
The Batman 2 is officially in development, revealed Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group Boss Toby Emmerich during the studio’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas. Emmerich also noted that lead actor Robert Pattinson and director Matt Reeves will return. There is no word yet on other actors like Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, and Zoe Kravitz returning.
Reeves took the stage during the panel and let those in attendance know how grateful he was about the reception to the film: “Thank you all for your tremendous support for The Batman. We couldn’t have gotten here without the faith and enthusiasm of all your teams around the world. I’m excited to jump back into this world for the next chapter.”

As previously reported, HBO Max has also given the green light to a Batman spinoff series centered around Farrell’s Penguin, while an Arkham-based project is also in development.
