Fast X: Rita Moreno to play Dominic Toretto’s grandmother

May 25, 2022 by Liam Waddington

With Fast X continuing production under new director Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk), Vin Diesel has taken to his personal Instagram to announce that Rita Moreno (West Side Story) has joined the cast as the grandmother of Diesel’s character, Dominic Toretto.

In the announcement video, Diesel, while sitting between Moreno and his longtime co-star Michelle Rodriguez, stated: “It’s been my dream forever to work with Rita Moreno, and the fact that she’s here playing my grandmother makes my soul smile.” Moreno later commented that she has been waiting for the invitation to join the long-running action franchise.
