Ryan Gosling set for Universal’s The Fall Guy movie

May 18, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Ryan Gosling is being linked with Universal’s feature film adaptation of 1980’s Lee Majors TV show The Fall Guy, with shooting set to get underway in Sydney, Australia.

According to Variety, and what they call extensive reporting by Australian media, Gosling is set to take on the role made famous by Lee Majors, that of a Hollywood stunt-man who runs a side-hustle as a bounty hunter in order to make ends meet. The Fall Guy was created by Glen A. Larson and ran for 113 episodes between 1981-1986.

Having just wrapped on The Russo Brothers action-blockbuster The Gray Man, Gosling might want a quick return to the genre following his stint as Ken in Greta Gerwig’s live-action Barbie movie, which is currently before the cameras with Margot Robbie in the titular role.

The Fall Guy is the latest high profile film to be announced as a major coup for the Australian economy following the news that Godzilla vs. Kong 2 would shoot there later this year.
