Tyler Hoechlin returns to Teen Wolf for feature film continuation

May 13, 2022 by Ricky Church

Superman & Lois star Tyler Hoechlin is returning to the world of Teen Wolf in Paramount+’s  Teen Wolf The Movie.

Hoechlin starred as Derek Hale in MTV’s Teen Wolf series. He was a mentor to Tyler Posey’s Scott McNall and is something of an antagonist to Scott and others throughout his time on the series. Hoechlin was a series regular for four of the six seasons and returned for the final two episodes. Teen Wolf The Movie will Posey and Hoechlin reunite.

The synopsis for Teen Wolf The Movie reads:

A full moon rises in Beacon Hills and with it a terrifying evil has emerged. The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of Banshees, Werecoyotes, Hellhounds, Kitsunes, and every other shapeshifter in the night. But only a Werewolf like Scott McCall (Posey), no longer a teenager yet still an Alpha, can gather both new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced.

Also returning from the TV series are Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, Crystal Reed, Orny Adams, Linden Ashby, JR Bourne, Colton Haynes, Ryan Kelley, Melissa Ponzio, Ian Bohen, Vince Mattis, Nobi Nakanishi, Khylin Rhambo, Amy Workman and Dylan Sprayberry.

Teen Wolf The Movie comes from its series creator Jeff Davis, MTV Entertainment Studios and MGM’s Orion Television. There is no word yet on when the film will begin production or a release window on Paramount+.

Hoechlin currently stars as Clark Kent/Superman on the CW’s Superman & Lois, which has been renewed for a third season.
