John Cho goes on a road trip with his daughter in the trailer for tearjerker Don’t Make Me Go

June 14, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Amazon Prime Video have just dropped the trailer for their daddy-daughter road-trip drama Don’t Make Me Go.

From Vera Herbert, the producer of This Is Us, and director Hannah Marks (After Everything), it’s the story of a father (Cho) who finds out he’s terminally ill, so decides to take his daughter (Mia Issac) on a cross-country trip to attend his school reunion, which also turns out to be a journey of self discovery. Sounds cheesy as hell? You betcha!

With an impressive case featuring Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Maika Monroe (Watcher), Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords), Stefania LaVie Owen (The Lovely Bones) and Kaya Scodelario (Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City), you can check out the trailer below…

When single father Max (John Cho) discovers he has a terminal disease, he decides to try and cram all the years of love and support he will miss with his teenage daughter Wally (Mia Isaac) into the time he has left with her. With the promise of long-awaited driving lessons, he convinces Wally to accompany him on a road trip from California to New Orleans for his 20th college reunion, where he secretly hopes to reunite her with her mother who left them long ago. A wholly original, emotional and surprising journey, Don’t Make Me Go explores the unbreakable, eternal bond between a father and daughter from both sides of the generational divide with heart and humour along for the ride.

Don’t Make Me Go will have its world premiere at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival before streaming on Amazon Prime on July 15th.
