SXSW horror Hypochondriac gets a trailer, poster and images

July 9, 2022 by Amie Cranswick

XYZ Films has released a trailer, poster and images for Hypochondriac, the SXSW horror-thriller from writer-director Addison Heimann which stars Zach Villa as Will, a young Hispanic artist whose life descends into chaos when he begins to exhibit unexplainable symptoms and finds himself tormented by a manifestation of the trauma of his dark past; take a look here…

Will, a young Hispanic gay potter, is one gregarious guy. His boss is terrible, but he’s got a great boyfriend and a great job. Unfortunately, behind that veneer is a dark past of violence and mental illness that he is desperate to keep hidden. When his bipolar mother comes out of the woodwork after ten years of silence, he begins exhibiting unexplainable symptoms and spirals into an obsession, determined to solve this mystery of his own.

Joining Zach Villa in the cast of Hypochondriac are Devon Graye, Paget Brewster, Marlene Forte, Madeline Zima, Yumarie Morales, and Chris Doubek.

Hypochondriac arrives in cinemas on July 29th, followed by a digital release on August 4th.
