Ariana DeBose to star in Blumhouse thriller House of Spoils

August 23, 2022 by Gary Collinson

THR is reporting that Blumhouse has set Oscar-winner Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) to lead the cast of House of Spoils, a psychological thriller for Prime Video.

The film will see DeBose starring as “an ambitious chef who opens her first restaurant, a farm-to-table affair on a remote estate. She soon battles kitchen chaos, a dubious investor, crushing self doubts and the powerful spirit of the estate’s previous owner threatening to sabotage her at every turn.”

House of Spoils is being written and directed by Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy, whose previous film Blow the Man Down was also released by Amazon [read our review here], and will go into production in the fall ahead of a release on Prime Video in 2023.

“Since Blow the Man Down, we have been huge fans of Bridget and Danielle’s unique filmmaking voice and knew we needed to be a part of whatever they wanted to do next,” said Julie Rapaport, head of movies at Amazon Studios.
