Prime Video has debuted the first trailer and poster for Goodnight Mommy, the Naomi Watts-headlined remake of the critically acclaimed 2014 Austrian horror.
Directed by Matt Sobel, the film follows twin brothers Elias and Lucas (Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti) as they arrive at their mother’s (Watts) home only to discover her covered in bandages – which she claims are a result of recent surgery – and behaving erratically, and they soon come to suspect the woman isn’t who she is claiming to be.

She sets strange new house rules, smokes in her bathroom, and secretly rips up a drawing they gave her—things their loving mother would never do. As her behavior grows increasingly bizarre and erratic, a horrifying thought takes root in the boys’ minds: The sinking suspicion that the woman beneath the gauze, who’s making their food and sleeping in the next room, isn’t their mother at all.
Goodnight Mommy arrives on Prime Video on September 16th.
