Eiza Gonzalez joins Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal in Hulu’s La Máquina

September 4, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Ambulance and Godzilla vs. Kong star Eiza Gonzalez has joined the cast of Hulu’s original limited series La Máquina, Deadline has revealed.

Produced by Diego Luna (Star Wars: Andor) and Gael García Bernal (Mozart in the Jungle) through their La Corriente del Gofo banner, with Marco Ramirez (Daredevil) as executive producer, the series “follows an aging boxer (Bernal) whose crafty manager (Luna) secures him one last shot at a title. But to make it to fight night, they must navigate a mysterious underworld force.”

Gonzalez is set to portray Irasema, described as “an aspiring sports journalist who approaches boxing as more of an art form. She’s the ex-wife of Esteban, who she still deeply cares for, and mother to their two children. She’s known Esteban and Andy since they were teenagers.”

La Máquina marks the third consecutive streaming series for Gonzalez after the upcoming Extrapolations at Apple TV+ and The Three-Body Problem at Netflix.
