Pennywise: The Story of IT trailer takes us behind-the-scenes of the classic 1990 miniseries

September 7, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

As well received as Andy Muschietti’s billion dollar blockbuster adaptation of IT was, for people of a certain age there’s only really one version of Stephen King’s iconic novel that has scarred and scared them in the same way Pennywise did to the kids in Derry’s losers club, and that’s the Tim Curry led 1990 mini-series.

Good news then for those keen to peer back down the standpipe because Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment have released the trailer for John Campopiano and Christopher Griffiths behind-the-scenes documentary, which features interviews with director Tommy Lee Wallace (Halloween III: Season of the Witch) and cast members Tim Curry (Rocky Horror), Seth Green (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Richard Thomas (The Waltons); check out the trailer below…

Exploring the 1990 mini-series, based on Stephen King’s iconic novel IT, this documentary tells a story heard by few and showcases a wealth of behind-the-scenes footage and photos seen by even fewer. From investigating the cultural phenomenon of coulrophobia (the fear of clowns) to Tim Curry’s magical portrayal of the notorious clown monster, this story promises to dig deeper into the Pennywise phenomenon than ever before!

Pennywise: The Story of IT crawls from the sewers and onto DVD & Blu-Ray on the 24th October.
