Tom Hanks is the grumpiest man in the world in trailer for A Man Called Otto

October 20, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Based on Fredrik Backman’s New York Times Best Seller A Man Called Ove, which was originally adapted into a 2015 Swedish movie of the same name, comes an against type Tom Hanks as the grumpiest man in the world in Marc Forster’s A Man Called Otto.

Hanks plays Otto Anderson, a curmudgeonly widower whose miserable existence is shaken up when a new family move in next door, and he meets his match in the shape of the heavily pregnant, quick-witted mom Marisol.

Starring alongside Hanks are Mariana Treviño (Club the Cuervos), Rachel Keller (Fargo) and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven). Check out the trailer below…

Based on the comical and moving # 1 New York Times bestseller, A Man Called Otto tells the story of Otto Anderson (Tom Hanks), a grumpy widower who is very set in his ways. When a lively young family moves in next door, he meets his match in quick-witted and very pregnant Marisol, leading to an unlikely friendship that will turn his world upside-down. Experience a funny, heartwarming story about how some families come from the most unexpected places.

A Man Called Otto opens at Christmas in the U.S. and is in cinemas in the U.K. from January 6th.
