Nicolas Cage vamps it up with Nicholas Hoult in first trailer for Renfield

January 5, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

It feels like we’ve been waiting more lifetimes than Dracula himself to finally sink our teeth into the trailer for Renfield, but now Universal have opened the crypt so we can get our first look at Nicolas Cage and Nicholas Hoult in Chris McKay’s modern-monster tale.

Also starring Awkwafina (The Farewell), Ben Schwartz (Sonic) and Adrian Martinez (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), Renfield updates the legend to tell the story of Dracula’s loyal assistant Renfield, who tries to emerge from the shadows of his overbearing boss and their toxic relationship in order to get a life of his own. Check out the trailer below…

In this modern monster tale of Dracula’s loyal servant, Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road, X-Men franchise) stars as Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss, Dracula (Oscar® winner Nicolas Cage). Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his codependency.

Renfield swoops into cinemas on April 14, 2023.
