Last year we saw Jessica Biel’s portrayal of Candy Montgomery in the acclaimed Hulu limited series Candy, and now Elizabeth Olsen will tackle the role of the murderous housewife in HBO Max’s Love & Death.
The true crime drama series tell the story of unhappy housewife Candy as embarks on an affair with a married man – Allan Gore – in their small town of Wylie, Texas, which ends in bloodshed when Candy is arrested, and acquitted of the gruesome murder of Allan’s wife Betty. Watch the trailer below…
This riveting drama, written by David E. Kelley and directed by Lesli Linka Glatter, tells the true story of Candy and Pat Montgomery and Betty and Allan Gore – two churchgoing couples enjoying their smalltown Texas life… until an extramarital affair leads somebody to pick up an axe.
The series features a cast that includes Elizabeth Olsen, Jesse Plemons, Lily Rabe, Patrick Fugit, Krysten Ritter, Tom Pelphrey, Keir Gilchrist and Elizabeth Marvel.
