Maika Monroe to hunt Nicolas Cage’s serial killer in horror Longlegs

February 8, 2023 by Gary Collinson

It Follows and Watcher star Maika Monroe is returning to the horror genre as the actress has signed on to star alongside the previously announced Nicolas Cage in Longlegs.

Written and directed by Oz Perkins (I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House), Longlegs is described as an an homage to “classic Hollywood psychological thrillers” and will see Monroe as a federal agent hunting Cage’s serial killer. Here’s the plot synopsis for the horror-thriller, per Variety:

In “Longlegs,” FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe) is a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Cage). As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.

Longlegs is currently in production in Vancouver, Canada. Monroe meanwhile was last seen in the Paramount+ sci-fi horror Significant Other, and has just recently wrapped on the Nick Cassavetes-directed crim thriller God Is a Bullet, where she stars alongside Jamie Foxx, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, January Jones and Andrew Dice Clay.
