Megan Thee Stallion joins Adam Sandler in the Safdies’ new Netflix film

March 30, 2023 by EJ Moreno

From tackling the world of rap to the strange world of the Safdie Brothers, Megan Thee Stallion is fearless.

The rapper-turned-actor will star in the new Safdie film coming to Netflix, starring alongside Adam Sandler. Deadline broke the story and reports that Megan Thee Stallion is in talks, though Netflix declined to comment.

Little is known about the newest film from Josh and Benny Safdie, though they have recently confirmed the setting will be in the world of sports memorabilia. Deadline notes, “The Safdies will direct from their own script and also serve as producers.”

This upcoming Netflix film is the first feature film from the duo since 2019’s Uncut Gems, featuring Adam Sandler. The film received universal acclaim, landing on many “Top Ten” lists of the best films of 2019 and landing multiple Critics’ Choice, Gotham, and Independent Spirit Awards.

Megan Thee Stallion is best known for her chart-topping songs, with two Billboard Hot 100 singles (Savage & WAP) with Grammy Awards wins. She’s previously appeared in the series P-Valley, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Good Girls. She’ll soon make her feature debut in the R-rated musical comedy F***ing Identical Twin opposite Nathan Lane, Bowen Yang, and Megan Mullally. Production on this still-untitled Safdie film will begin this summer.
