Sydney Sweeney joins Apple’s Echo Valley alongside Julianne Moore

March 9, 2023 by EJ Moreno

A new Apple Original Film is brewing, and Echo Park just landed two high-profile actresses.

Variety reports Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore will star in the new film from Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby. Michael Pearce will helm the movie based on a script by Ingelsby.

Echo Valley follows Moore as ‘Kate Garrett,’ who is reeling from a personal tragedy and spends her days boarding and training horses at Echo Valley Farm, twenty-two secluded, picturesque acres in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Late one night, her wayward daughter, ‘Claire’ (played by Sweeney), arrives at her doorstep, frightened, trembling, and covered in someone else’s blood.

With the Emmy-nominated Sydney Sweeney and beloved Julianne Moore, Brad Ingelsby is trying to recapture the magic of Mare of Easttown, which earned 16 Emmy nominations and four wins, including outstanding lead actress for series star Kate Winslet.

Echo Valley is Ingelsby’s fourth collaboration with Scott Free after 2013’s Out of the Furnace, 2015’s American Woman, and most Our Friend. Ingelsby, Ridley Scott & Michael Pruss of Scott Free are producing the project alongside Kevin Walsh for The Walsh Company.

Production is expected to begin this summer.
