April 23, 2023 by Amie Cranswick

With just a month to go until the action comedy series American Born Chinese premieres on Disney+, a new trailer and a poster have arrived online from the small screen adaptation of Gene Luen Yang’s 2006 graphic novel; check them out here…

Based on the genre-hopping graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang, American Born Chinese follows Jin Wang, an average teenager juggling his high school social life with his immigrant home life. When he meets a new foreign student at school two worlds collide into one epic adventure…

The series stars Ben Wang (Sight) as Jin Wang, Yann Yann Yeo (Wet Season) as Christine Wang, Chin Han (Skyscraper) as Simon Wang, Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once) as Freddy Wong, Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once) as Shiji Niangniang, Ching Liu as Wei-Chen (Light the Night), Sydney Taylor (Mystery City) as Amelia, Daniel Wu (Westworld) as Sun Wukong “The Monkey King” and Michelle Yeoh (Avatar: The Way of Water) as Guanyin.
