Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire revealed as next Monsterverse movie with first teaser

The fifth film in Warner Bros. and Legendary’s $1.9 billion grossing Monsterverse has unveiled its title and a release date.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the new title for Adam Wingard’s direct follow-up to his $450 million grossing pandemic-era blockbuster Godzilla vs. Kong, and it will stomp into cinemas around the world on March 15, 2024.

Wingard brings Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and Kaylee Hottle back to the franchise, and recruits newcomers Dan Stevens, Fala Chen and Rachel House for a sequel that promises to delve into the origins of these iconic Titans. Check out the title reveal teaser below….

This latest entry in the Monsterverse franchise follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is only in theatres March 15, 2024.
