New trailer for Netflix’s survival thriller Society of the Snow

October 21, 2023 by Amie Cranswick

Netflix has released a new teaser trailer and images for Society of the Snow, the upcoming survival thriller from director J.A. Bayona.

Based on Pablo Vierci’s book La sociedad de la nieve (The Snow Society: The Definitive Account of the World’s Greatest Survival Story), the film tells the story of the 1972 Uruguayan Andes flight disaster and the desperate measures the survivors went to in order to stay alive after the plane crashed on a glacier in the Andes. Watch the trailer below…

In 1972, the Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571, chartered to fly a rugby team to Chile, catastrophically crashes on a glacier in the heart of the Andes. Only 29 of the 45 passengers survived the crash and finding themselves in one of the world’s toughest environments, they are forced to resort to extreme measures to stay alive.

The film stars Enzo Vogrincic, Matías Recalt, Agustín Pardella, Diego Vegezzi, Esteban Kukuriczka, Rafael Federman, and Andy Pruss.

Society of the Snow is set for a theatrical release this December and arrives on Netflix on January 4th.
