Meet the new apostles with The Book of Clarence character posters

December 13, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

Sony Pictures has unveiled a series of character posters for writer-director Jeymes Samuel’s biblical-era epic The Book of Clarence.

Headlined by LaKeith Stanfield as Clarence, a down-on-his-luck man desperate to find a better life, who inspired by the power of Jesus and his disciples sets out to carve his own path to a divine life and declares himself a new Messiah. We called The Book of Clarence “a singular vision of an age-old sermon filtered through a modern lens” in our ★★★★ review (which you can read here).

Featuring on the posters are Omar Sy, Anna Diop, RJ Cyler, David Oyelowo, Micheal Ward, Alfre Woodard, Teyana Taylor, Caleb McLaughlin, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, and James McAvoy. Check them out below…

From visionary filmmaker Jeymes Samuel, The Book of Clarence is a bold new take on the timeless Hollywood era Biblical epic. Streetwise but struggling, Clarence (LaKeith Stanfield) is trying to find a better life for himself and his family, make himself worthy to the woman he loves, and prove that he’s not a nobody. Captivated by the power and glory of the rising Messiah and His apostles, he risks everything to carve his own path to a divine life, a journey through which he finds redemption and faith, power and knowledge.

The Book of Clarence is set for release on January 12th 2024.
