A Robot Named Fight! arrives on the Nintendo eShop

April 27, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Matt Bitner Games’ Metroidvania roguelike title, A Robot Named Fight! is now available on the Nintendo eShop for the Switch.  The Switch edition will contain all the same features as the Steam version released last September plus a new weapon, new power-up combos and a brand new secret ending.

A Robot Named Fight! takes players to a planet populated by robots.  Since the mechanical gods ascended a millennia ago the lower order robots continued to do their jobs and live in peace, unfortunately an ancient entity known as Megabeast is stirring and unleashing its spawn upon the world threatening the robots.  As a lone robot it is up to players to set out on a mission to explore a procedurally generated underground world and retrieve wartime artifacts with which to defeat the Megabeast.

This Metroidvania roguelike game features:

  • A procedurally generated labyrinth of tunnels with more than 4 billion unique runs.
  • Over 70 menacing enemies to destroy.
  • Play solo or with a friend in local co-op.
  • Lots of different items to help you on your way.
  • Seeded runs.
  • More synergies between weapons and power ups.
  • An entirely new secret area with a new ending.

“Bringing A Robot Named Fight! to the Nintendo Switch feels like a homecoming in a way. Deep down, I always knew it would end up on a Nintendo platform. The game is a labor of love above all else – a living, breathing homage to the great Metroidvanias of the ‘80s and ‘90s.” – Matt Bitner.
