Nic Cage’s Cannes cult thriller Mandy secures distribution

May 8, 2018 by Matt Rodgers

Playing in The Director’s Fortnight at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Nicolas Cage’s revenge drama Mandy has now secured distribution in all international territories, according to XYZ Films.

Directed by Panos Cosmatos, Mandy is set in the wilderness of 1983, where Red Miller (Nicolas Cage) must deal with the fallout of an unhinged religious cult that have attacked his family. The film also stars Andrea Riseborough (Black Mirror, Battle of the Sexes), and Linus Roache (Vikings, Homeland).

RJLE Films will release Mandy in the US later this year, with Variety reporting similar sales deals for worldwide distributors. Nothing has been confirmed as far as the UK is concerned, but we’ll keep you posted.

Let us know what you think in the comments section below. Does Mandy have the potential to be this year’s Bone Tomahawk, or have we been burned by Cage’s DTV output over the last few years to really care?
