Michael Keaton’s Vulture to return in Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel

May 21, 2018 by Matt Rodgers

Following the news that Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to play Mysterio in the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, Variety are reporting further developments from the world of the Sinister Six, with the story that Michael Keaton will reprise his role as The Vulture.

Last seen incarcerated during the end credits of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Adrian Toomes (Keaton) is confronted by another potential member of the Sinister Six, Mac Gargan, aka The Scorpion, so this could mean that we’re getting the origin of Peter Parker’s nemesis posse.

Joining Tom Holland’s friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man in the sequel are the returning trio of Zendaya (The Greatest Showman), Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny), and Jacob Batalon (Avengers: Infinity War).

The film, which Kevin Feige has confirmed will not be called Spider-Man: Homecoming 2, will take Peter Parker out of New York for an international adventure. Chris McKenna and Eric Sommers will once again take on writing duties, with Jon Watts back in the directors chair for the Marvel blockbuster.

Are you happy that this iteration of Spider-Man looks to be setting up the Sinister Six, which was in pre-production for so long over at Sony Pictures before The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stiffed, or do you think the film has enough to deal with from the Infinity War fallout and allowing Tom Holland’s version of Peter Parker time to find his feet? Let us know in the comments below…
