As we gear up for tonight’s Deadpool panel at the San Diego Comic-Con International, former Game of Thrones star Ed Skrein has been talking to MTV about his role as the villain Ajax in the X-Men spinoff.
“I think the rest of the world sees him as a bad guy. Me, I think he’s just misunderstood,” says Skrein. “He went through the same Weapon X program as Wolverine and Deadpool. His superpowers are that he feels nothing. He feels no pain, but also psychologically there’s huge parts of his mind which is missing. The social responsibilities and all those things. It’s a very interesting character. He really doesn’t feel much, so I suppose he’s a sociopath in the truest sense.”

Meanwhile, it’s also being reported that Leslie Uggams’ (Roots) official website lists her as playing Blind Al, Wade Wilson’s prisoner/friend/mentor/housekeeper.
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Deadpool is set for release on February 5th 2016 in the UK and February 12th 2016 in the States and sees Ryan Reynolds reprising the title role alongside T.J. Miller (Transformers: Age of Extinction) as Weasel, Morena Baccarin (Gotham) as Copycat, Gina Carano (Fast & Furious 6) as Angel Dust, Ed Skrein (Game of Thrones) as Ajax, Andre Tricoteux (Seventh Son) as Colossus and newcomer Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
