Fox releases official images of Deadpool 2’s surprise villain

May 29, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Warning. Spoilers for Deadpool 2 follow…

20th Century Fox’s superhero sequel Deadpool 2 included a host of notable cameos from the wider X-Men universe, not least one Cain Marko, a.k.a. the Juggernaut, and the studio has unveiled an official hi-res image of the villain as he appears in the movie.

UPDATE: And here are a few more…

Juggernaut was created by CGI, with Ryan Reynolds providing facial motion capture as well as lending his voice to the character.

“[Juggernaut] a force of nature who was probably the coolest character never to be used as of yet in the right way,” said screenwriter Rhett Reese, referring to the character’s first appearance in X-Men: The Last Stand, where he was played by Vinnie Jones. “He didn’t have many lines, he’s a man of few words, but he’s a man of great anger and forcefulness.”

What did you make of Juggernaut’s appearance in Deadpool 2? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…

Marvel’s motormouth mercenary is back! Bigger, better and occasionally more pantless than ever before. When a super soldier arrives on a murderous mission, Deadpool is forced to think about friendship, family and what it really means to be a hero – all while kicking 50 shades of ass. Because, sometimes, to do the right thing you need to fight dirty.

Deadpool 2 sees David Leitch (John Wick) directing a cast that includes returning stars Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al) and Karan Soni (Dopinder) alongside new additions Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) as Domino, Josh Brolin (Avengers: Infinity War) as Cable, Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) as Bedlam, Lewis Tan (Iron Fist) as Shatterstar, Bill Skarsgard (It) as Zeitgeist, Rob Delaney (Catastrophe), Julian Dennison (Hunt for the Wilderpeople) as Russell, Jack Kesy (The Strain) as Black Tom Cassidy and Shioli Kutsuna (The Outsider) as Yukio.
