Rumour: Fox developing an Alien TV series

July 7, 2018 by Gary Collinson

With Ridley Scott’s Alien sequel plans seemingly on hold following the underperformance of Alien: Covenant and the “ship having sailed” on Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5, the future of the sci-fi/horror/action franchise appears to be up in the air at the moment.

Well, if a new rumour from Omega Underground is to be believed, we may be set to revisit the Alien universe, albeit on the small screen, with the site reporting that a TV series is being considered behind-the-scenes, and may well be timed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original Alien movie next year.

The report goes on to claim that it was “given the impression the xenomorphs unlikely would be the main focus and [that it] would be just set within that world.”

What are your thoughts on a potential Alien TV series? Is it something you’d look forward to seeing, or should Fox let the franchise rest for a while after the mixed reception to Ridley Scott’s recent entries? Let us know in the comments below…
