de Blob 2 coming to the Nintendo Switch this August

July 31, 2018 by Andrew Newton

THQ Nordic has announced that the remaster of de Blob 2 is scheduled to launch on the Nintendo Switch on the 28th August. This fan favourite adventure will be released both physically and digitally for £26.99/€29.99. de Blob 2 will see our colourful friend return to splash some more colour into an otherwise monochrome city and our gaming lives.

Set several years after the events of de Blob, Comrade Black has made a return and is causing yet more chaos by removing all the colour from the streets of Prisma City.  Not only that, he’s also managing to brainwash the citizens into his cult that opposes anything but black and white. The Colour Underground are doing what they can to stop Comrade Black but only our hero de Blob is capable of stopping him.

de Blob 2 is a platformer featuring a whole new adventure that will see players travel through 12 new single player levels set in a variety of new environments including icy outposts, tropical bio domes and distant space stations. There will also be new power ups to discover that will let de Blob jet jump over skyscrapers and turn him into a super Blob.

This colourful remastering will feature:

  • Imagine – Set off on an action packed colour adventure with 12 new single-player story levels where custom paints, patterns and music bring the world to life any way you want.
  • Laugh – Only the colourful prankster Blob can foil Papa Blanc’s evil hypno-plot to steal all the colour from Prisma City.
  • Wield power – Speed-smash through walls, jet-jump over skyscrapers and slam-squash Inkies with all new power-ups that turn you into a super Blob.
  • Explore – Paint your way past icy outposts, tropical bio-domes and distant space stations to free the fair citizens of Prisma City.
  • Transform – Inside, outside, above the Earth and below it, Blob embarks on mini-missions and epic boss battles to restore colour and music back to this rich universe.
  • Share – Recruit your friends to join the colour evolution in the two-player split-screen co-op mode.

de Blob 2 arrives on the Nintendo Switch on 28th August.
