Vinessa Vidotto joins Lucifer season 4 as the angel Remiel

October 20, 2018 by Gary Collinson

As filming continues on the fourth season of Lucifer, Deadline is reporting that the show has brought in another new face, with newcomer Vinessa Vidotto cast in the recurring role of the angel Remiel.

In the Vertigo comic book series, Remiel is portrayed as a male character, but the show’s version is described as a “classic little sister character who admires her eldest brother, the mighty Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside), but also feels under-appreciated or overshadowed while struggling to match his towering standards. Remiel idolizes her big brother but dealing with the self-righteous alpha-dog of angels isn’t always easy.”

Tom Ellis leads the cast of Lucifer as the titular Lord of Hell, who – bored with his life – resigned his throne and heads to Los Angeles to become a nightclub owner and consultant to the LAPD. Lauren German, Rachael Harris, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez and Kevin Alejandro also star, while new additions for season four include Graham McTavish (Preacher) as Father Kinley and Inbar Lavi (Imposters) as Eve.

Lucifer was cancelled by Fox back in May, but was revived by Netflix for a shortened fourth season following a vocal #savelucifer fan campaign, with the new episodes set to hit the streaming service in 2019.
