The Bug Butcher arrives on Nintendo Switch

November 8, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Awfully Nice Studios’ critically acclaimed game The Bug Butcher is now available on the Nintendo Switch thanks to indie publisher 2Awesome Studio.  Winner of several awards and nominations, The Bug Butcher will provide relentless shoot ’em up action inspired by the classic 1992 Super Pang.  Watch the game’s new Switch trailer below.

In The Bug Butcher, the super secret science facility has been infested with thousands of mutant bouncing insects that have a taste for the poor scientists working there.  Taking the role of Harry, the best exterminator in the galaxy, players will need to blast these bugs through 30 hectic levels.  Harry will need to keep blasting these bugs into smaller and smaller chunks as they bounce around, and there are plenty of options to customise his equipment and weapons not to mention the chance to get a swarm of guided missiles to help destroy the infestation.

For those who like to play with friends, The Bug Butcher has an endless endless co-op mode that will allow players to blast, crush and smash the bugs together.

The Bug Butcher features

  • Chaotic, fast paced action inspired by the arcade classic Super Pang.
  • Play solo or in local co-op.
  • 30 levels and 5 Merciless boss fights crammed full of bugs.
  • Online leaderboards to show off your skills.
  • 3 difficulty modes to offer the ultimate challenge.
  • Upgradeable Weapons and Power-ups to help make killing easier.
  • Handcrafted 2D graphics with more explosion animations than you can shake a stick at.

The Bug Butcher is available for the Nintendo Switch now.
