Sci-fi horror The Subject gets a trailer and release date

November 15, 2018 by Andrew Newton

DarkStone Digital has announced that their Sci-Fi horror puzzle game The Subject is set to launch on 30th November on Steam.  Inspired by classic adventure puzzle games and the marvel that is 80s sci-fi, The Subject will see players having to solve puzzles or face death at the hands of a mysterious research company.  To coincide with the release date announcement, Darkstone Digital has also released a new trailer which can be seen below…

In the far future humanity has colonised the galaxy and the rapid expansion has led to areas of space becoming lawless.  As a result, the government became more strict and laws were implemented that even innocent people could be jailed for the slightest thing.  Massive prison overpopulation became commonplace so an auction system was devised to ‘purchase’ prisoners and use them for any purpose without any legal comeback.

Unfortunately for the player, they are one of the prisoners purchased by BioMass Labs and shipped off to the Kohate testing facilities for studying.  Players will need to navigate the facility and find their way to the various puzzles that make up BioMass Labs’ experiment whilst avoiding the monstrous creature that lives there.  During the test it will be essential to regularly visit bio-data terminals or face getting killed by the company.

The Subject will be available on 30th November.  If you are attending DreamHack Atlanta this year then pay Darkstone Digial a visit in the indie zone, booth I-46.
