ABC renews Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for season 7 as Chloe Bennet reveals Quake’s new season 6 look

November 17, 2018 by Gary Collinson

The Netflix shows may be dropping like flies, what with the cancellation of both Iron Fist and Luke Cage, but Marvel is set to continue having a presence on ABC next season, with the network announcing that it has renewed Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a seventh season.

The renewal is somewhat of a surprise given that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been on the bubble for the past couple of seasons amid falling ratings, and its shortened sixth season isn’t set to premiere until summer 2019.

However, according to Deadline, the early renewal is linked to the cast’s options, and allows ABC and Marvel to produce the sixth and seventh seasons back to back.

Meanwhile, the official press release for the renewal omits Clark Gregg from the cast list for season seven, leaving Coulson’s fate up in the air following the season five finale where it appeared that he would finally succumb to his injuries sustained in The Avengers.

Whether that’s simply subterfuge to avoid spoiling his latest resurrection in season six remains to be seen, although we will see Gregg back as the fan favourite character – and a younger, 90s version of him to boot – this coming March in Captain Marvel.

Meanwhile, in other Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. news, Chloe Bennet has taken to Twitter to share two first-look images from season 6 featuring her character Quake, who is sporting a new hairstyle and costume…
