The Walking Dead director teases details about the mysterious “X” scars on Daryl and Michonne

November 20, 2018 by Samuel Brace

The Walking Dead director Michael Cudlitz has commented on the mysterious X scars seen on the backs of both Daryl and Michonne.

Michael Cudlitz once starred on The Walking Dead as Abraham before meeting his fate early in season seven. Now Cudlitz is behind the camera, having directed last Sunday’s episode of the show.

One thing seen through Cudltiz’s lens was the mysterious X scar on Daryl’s back, just like the one located on Michonne. What does this all mean? Well, Cudlitz spoke to Business Insider about it:

“Where we’re dealing with Michonne, where she has separated herself from the Hilltop group, and sort of isolated herself with just Alexandria, we’re not exactly sure why. We will find out later. A lot of it’s tied to the ‘X’ that we see on her back, that we just revealed on Michonne’s back. Now we see it on Daryl’s back.

“The audience is going to want to know what that’s about. They’re going to find out what that’s about, but that is something that connects them all, even though they’re all separated right now, we’re going to find out why.”

So it seems like there are some pretty big plans for this strange new plot element. We will have to see just what it all means. Are you enjoying The Walking Dead in the post-Rick Grimes era?
