Alex Ross Perry to direct R.L. Stine’s Fear Street 2

January 28, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Back in 2017 it was announced that 20th Century Fox had picked up the rights to Goosebumps creator R.L. Stine’s teen horror series Fear Street, tapping Leigh Janiak (Honeymoon) to direct a trilogy of films.

Well, it seems there has been a slight change of plans, with Janiak now set to tackle the first and third instalments, and Alex Ross Perry (Listen Up Philip, Queen of Earth) coming on board to direct the middle chapter.

According to THR, Fear Street 2 takes place in 1978 and “portrays Camp Nightwing divided by campers and counselors from Sunnyvale and, when local horrors come alive, everyone must band together to solve a terrifying mystery before it’s too late.”

The plan is to release all three Fear Street movies a month apart in 2020. Production is slated to begin in the summer.
