Netflix picks up Narcos for a second season

September 3, 2015 by Justin Cook

It hasn’t even been a full week since Netflix’s Narcos was released for streaming, but a new report from The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the show has already been picked up for a second season.

Other than the fact that the show will return in 2016, few details are known about the second season at this time; however, it does sound likely that the next season will consist of 10 episodes, similar to season 1.

Netflix has certainly been scoring with their original content lately, with such shows as Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Daredevil, and this news seems to indicate that Narcos is another hit for the streaming service.

The Medellin cartel – the most violent, ruthless and wealthy criminal organization in the history of modern crime. And the one man who lorded over them all… Pablo Escobar.

NARCOS is the true story of the U.S. and Colombian efforts to battle the Medellin cartel during the cocaine-fueled drug wars of the 1980’s. Multi-layered and multi-faceted, NARCOS depicts a brutal world where lines are blurred and little is black and white.

The first season of Narcos featured a cast that included Wagner Moura, Pedro Pascal, Boyd Holbrook, Luis Guzmán, Juan Pablo Raba, Joanna Christie, Stephanie Sigman, Manolo Cardona, André Mattos and Ana de la Reguera.
