Michael B. Jordan to play 400 year old man in Methuselah

March 26, 2019 by Matt Rodgers

You could never accuse Michael B. Jordan of resting on his laurels. Fresh off the back of a stellar 2018, which saw him become a Thanos rivaling villain of depth with Black Panther‘s Killmonger, and continue the Rocky legacy with the fantastic Creed II, Deadline is reporting that he has added another project to his increasingly crowded slate, in the form of the long-gestating Methuselah.

According to the report, the Warner Bros. project has been bouncing around in development limbo for a decade-or-so, with Tom Cruise attached to star. Should Jordan be the actor to finally carry Methuselah to the big-screen, he will play a man who has lived for 400 years, without showing any signs of ageing. In his four centuries on Earth he has acquired vast intellectual knowledge, multiple languages, a grasp of the sciences, and perhaps more importantly for a story that Deadline say has “a Highlander-like mythology” with “franchise potential”, he has a certain set of survival skills.

If Methuselah comes to fruition, Jordan will have to fit it in alongside Denzel Washington’s latest directorial effort A Journal for Jordan, Tom Clancy adaptation Without Remorse, and Just Mercy, alongside Brie Larson and Jamie Foxx.
