2020 is a going to be “bananas” for The Walking Dead

March 27, 2019 by Samuel Brace

The Walking Dead chief content officer, Scott Gimple, has revealed that there is a big 2020 ahead for the brand’s connected universe.

AMC’s The Walking Dead isn’t going anywhere anytime soon with both the prime show, Fear the Walking Dead, and planned movies, all in play for the future. We know a Rick Grimes movie is on the way but what does 2020 have in store for us?

Well, according to chief content officer Scott Gimple, 2020 is going to be “bananas”. Speaking on Talking Dead (via ComicBook.com), Gimple said: “We’re working on a number of things right now, they’re getting very close. We’re gonna have a steady flow of announcements through the rest of the year, and then 2020 is gonna be bananas.

“There’s gonna be some pre-announcements made, we’re gonna have some announcements after that … but what I will say is Fear the Walking Dead is coming up in June, and there is a story in the first half of the season that has to do with one of these greater stories of the universe that will bring in some of the things that all of you guys have seen before, and it will expand it out just a little bit more, and then we’ll have an announcement.”

It sounds like the next year or so is going to be pretty exciting for fans of the show. What are you looking forward to most? More TWD? The Rick Grimes movie(s)? Perhaps a new show? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @FlickeringMyth…
