John Goodman and Thomas Mann join the cast of Kong: Skull Island

September 26, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

John Goodman (The Monuments Men) and Thomas Mann (Me and Earl and The Dying Girl) have joined the cast of upcoming King Kong prequel Kong: Skull Island, Deadline reports.

Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) is directing the film for Legendary Pictures, who enjoyed big success with last summer’s Godzilla. Derek Connolly, who co-wrote this year’s biggest film Jurassic World, has been brought on to re-write the latest version of the script.

Goodman and Mann join a cast that already includes Tom Hiddleston (Crimson Peak), Brie Larson (Room), Samuel L. Jackson (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton), Toby Kebbell (Fantastic Four), and John C. Reilly (The Lobster).

The film is about a man, played by Hiddleston, “who travels to the mythical island and home of the king of the apes. A team of explorers ventures inside what they find to be a treacherous island.”

Kong: Skull Island is set for release on March 9th, 2017.
