Josh Brolin has been speaking to Marvel Studios about Cable’s future

July 2, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Josh Brolin, who played Cable in Deadpool 2, has called up Marvel Studios about the character’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Now that Disney has completed its acquisition of Fox – including key Marvel characters like Deadpool and the X-Men – some actors are wondering what the future holds for them.

This includes Josh Brolin – the Thanos actor who also portrayed Cable in Fox’s Deadpool 2. Speaking to ACE Comic Con in Seattle, (via ComicBook), the actor revealed that he has spoken to Marvel about the situation:

“I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m actually, I’ve been calling them, like, ‘What’s the deal with Cable, man?’ Seriously, 100 percent serious. They’re figuring it out. It’s a big world now, it just got much, much bigger. So who knows.”

Fans of Brolin’s and his work as Cable will surely be hoping that Marvel can find some way to incorporate the character into the present day MCU – it might be a little while though before anything materializes.
