PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16 games revealed for the Polymega modular console

July 16, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Playmaji and extreme Co. have revealed that the world’s first HD modular game console, Polymega, will feature five licensed TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine games with the EM04 “Turbo” Element Module Set.  The Polymega will enable players to enjoy their retro games without the expense of the old systems by having several modules that can be purchased individually.  Each module is relevant to a different system and will come with 5 games and a retro styled controller.

With the EM04 “Turbo” Element Module Set gamers will be able to enjoy their original TG-16 and Japanese PCE HuCard games using either OEM controllers or the 6 button “Turbo” retro controller included.  It’s worth noting that TurboGrafx CD and PC Engine CD games will be able to be played through the base unit itself.

The five titles included with the module are:

  • Moto Roader
  • Moto Roader
  • Double Dungeons
  • Shockman
  • Dragon Egg

“We’re huge fans of the TurboGrafx-16/PCE. It’s exciting to share with players a great new way to explore this wonderfully underrated system through five great classic digital pack-in games as part of our partnership with Japan-based extreme Co.,LTD and the Masaya Games brand.” Bryan Bernal, Co-Founder & CEO, Playmaji, Inc.

The Polymega features:

  • A CD compatible retro console.
  • Expandable modules for cartridge game support.
  • Install games and create a digital library.
  • Shop for digital releases.
  • HDTV-compatible light gun.
  • Powerful Intel Coffee Lake S-based hardware at 3.1GHz
