Will Smith wishes he could tell his younger self to take The Matrix role

October 8, 2019 by Liam Waddington

Will Smith has stated that he wishes he could tell his younger self to take The Matrix role.

During an interview on the red carpet for Gemini Man, the new Ang Lee action thriller which pits Smith’s assassin against his younger clone, the actor was asked what advice he would give his younger self if he could. You can check out his response below.

I just asked Will Smith what piece of professional advice he wishes he could give a younger him — his answer:

“Go back to ‘WILD WILD WEST’ and I would say ‘Asshole, why didn’t you do THE MATRIX’?” pic.twitter.com/PkE1R9ljUY

For anyone who may be unaware, Smith was offered the role of Neo in The Matrix but turned it down after having doubts regarding the project. This led to Keanu Reeves joining the project for the three (soon to be four) instalments in this franchise.
