The Falcon and the Winter Soldier set photos reveal U.S. Agent’s symbol, Chris Evans seemingly rules out appearance

November 23, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Although we’re yet to see MCU newcomer Wyatt Russell on the set of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we did get a glimpse of some concept art of his character John Walker – a.k.a. U.S. Agent – earlier this month, and now a new spy photo from the Marvel Studios series has surfaced on Twitter featuring his Captain America-inspired symbol.

A new #TheFalconAndTheWinterSoldier set photo has seemingly revealed the propaganda symbol of the U.S. Agent!

Based on what we can see on the photo, it seems safe to assume that Russell’s John Walker is being introduced to the public, likely as the new government-sponsored ‘Captain America’. Presumably that won’t sit too well with Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, who as we saw in Avengers: Endgame, was hand-picked by Steve Rogers as his successor.

However, if you’re expecting Old Steve to weigh into the situation, you’ll likely be disappointed by comments from Chris Evans, who revealed to ET that he’s not interested in reprising his role at this point in time: “There were a million ways my tenure with Marvel could have gone wrong and it didn’t, so to stick the landing so well, it would be a shame to kind of revisit unless there was something unique that we felt the need to reveal. For now, it just feel like, ‘Let’s be content with how well it ended.'”

Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is slated to premiere on Disney+ in the Fall of 2020 with a cast that includes MCU veterans Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter), Daniel Bruhl (Zemo) and new additions Wyatt Russell (Overlord) and Adepero Oduye (The Big Short).
