Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will explain mysteries like Snoke

November 27, 2019 by Samuel Brace

J.J. Abrams, the director of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, has revealed that the film will look to explain certain mysteries of the saga such as Supreme Leader Snoke.

Supreme Leader Snoke has been one of the most mysterious characters of the sequel trilogy but his shocking death in The Last Jedi has left many questions about who this man was and where he came from.

Well, the good news is that when Uproxx asked J.J. Abrams about Snoke, he said that The Rise of Skywalker will provide answers to some key Star Wars questions:

“I will say, without giving anything away, knowing this movie is an ending is, for me infinitely more challenging than a beginning. We knew we needed to provide answers. And while there may be some things that aren’t entirely demystified by the end of it, we wanted to make sure people left feeling that they were satisfied. So I hope, on a number of issues, people will leave and feel like that it’s a true ending and not an advertising ploy. We really are bringing it to an end.”

It’s going to be fascinating to see how Episode IX wraps up all three trilogies and there are certainly more than a few people who can’t wait to understand the origins of Snoke.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set for release on December 19th 2019 in the UK and December 20th 2019 in North America with J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) directing a cast that includes Star Wars veterans Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix), Greg Grunberg (Snap Wexley), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa) as well as new additions Naomi Ackie (Lady Macbeth), Richard E. Grant (Logan), Dominic Monaghan (Lost), and Keri Russell (The Americans).
