Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and 1917 take top honours at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards

The 77th annual Golden Globe Awards were presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association last night, with Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (Best Film – Musical or Comedy) and Sam Mendes’ 1917 (Best Film – Drama) taking home the top film awards, and Chernobyl (Best Limited Television Series), Succession (Best Television Series – Drama) and Fleabag (Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy) receiving small screen honours.

Once Upon a Time also received Best Screenplay (Quentin Tarantino) and Best Supporting Actor (Brad Pitt), while Sam Mendes was named Best Director for 1917. Other winners included Parasite (Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language), Joaquin Phoenix (Best Actor – Drama for Joker), Renee Zellweger (Best Actress – Drama for Judy), Taron Egerton (Best Actor – Musical or Comedy for Rocketman), Awkwafina (Best Actress – Musical or Comedy for The Farewell) and Laura Dern (Best Supporting Actress for Marriage Story).
