Ghostbusters: Afterlife star Finn Wolfhard says the film will be a faithful continuation

March 24, 2020 by Liam Waddington

The highly-anticipated Ghostbusters: Afterlife, is set for release this year and one of the stars of the film, Finn Wolfhard, has claimed the follow-up film to Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II will be a faithful continuation of the franchise.

In a recent interview with NME, Wolfhard explained how the film will be faithful for the older Ghostbusters fans while keeping its appeal to younger audiences with its themes of family.

“Older Ghostbusters fans will find it’s a really, really faithful approach to the series,” Wolfhard said. “While young people, if not everyone, will find that, first and foremost, Ghostbusters is about family and the relationships that these people have made. It’s also really funny, so I’m really excited for people to see it.”

Additionally, Wolfhard has also previously stated that Afterlife will be faithful to the originals by keeping the same comedic element fans come to expect from the series.

“The trailer only showed some of it, but it’s a Ghostbusters movie so it’s a really funny film. Every scene has comedy in it,” Wolfhard previously told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m excited for people to see more of the humour in the movie.”
